What's In a Name?
We know that you have already caught on to the play on words, "wise solutions." Of course we will strive to provide these on each engagement. However, the name "Whys Solutions" is actually derived from a Japanese philosophy known as “The 5 Whys." Now applied to business processes and root cause analysis world-wide, a core tool within Six Sigma as well as an integral part of Kaizen, “The 5 Whys” is a powerful, yet simple approach to solving many forms of problems, or at a minimum, to help find the way to the root cause(s) of a problem.In its simplest form, the approach asks "why" at least five times, in a manner that works from the present backwards, ultimately drilling down to the root cause of each aspect of a problem, each step of a process, or section of an initial analysis of any issue, problem, procedure, etc. So when the category shows up on Jeopardy you will understand it and we hope you will appreciate the questions that will be raised in a WhysSolutions engagement.
